The system consists an automatic hydraulic tightening and pneumatic flattening carriage, a slide in and out front rest, control stand and control box.The machine is operated by a PLC, a programmable controller. The automatic carriage traverse is powered by a hydraulic motor coupled to a rack and pinion drive system, which provides solid, smooth, accurate and very quiet operation.

The operator removes the finished panels from one section and refills this section with glue-edged stock, then pressed the "auto-start" button.The automatic carriage travels to flattening panel and tightening clamps one by one to the end, then change the next section lay on the front rest again and the automatic carriage travel forward other side end, loosening clamps one bye one comes to stop at end. The automatic cycle is then repeated. With the different gluing job, the clamp tightening hydraulic pressure can be adjusted.

The plane flatteners each have actuating air cylinders, which enable the machine to flatten both narrow and wide panels. The automatic clamp carrier cuts labor costs in half by allowing the clamp carrier operator to perform other tasks (such as applying glue to stock, etc.) while the machine automatically flattens panels, tightens clamps, rotates, and loosens clamps.
